The picturesque village of St Jean d'Aulps, near Morzine, is the perfect location as a summer mountain retreat or activity-holiday base; quiet in itself, yet by the River Dranse and within the huge Portes du Soleil stretching from France into Switzerland.

Chalet Shufu is in easy walking distance of the village bars, restaurants and shops. It has a private garden with BBQ, outside chairs and table and gets sunshine all day. Not far from water; there's the river at the bottom of the garden with a deep pool for a quick plunge, or a small lake just a cycle or walk away in addition to the beaches of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) at just a 30-minute drive. Also within a 1-hour journey are the super summer spots of Annecy, Evian, Yvoire and Chamonix. We recommend hiring a car at Geneva to fully be able to appreciate all the area has to offer in summertime.

The Portes du Soleil is renowned for its mountain biking, even hosting National and World championships. Its 480km of marked paths provide all levels of runs and hiking trails, connected by the ski lifts which can carry you and your bike to avoid the worst of the climbs.
The lifts for hiking and biking are open from June till September.
